HENDERSONVILLE - William A. Greene, Sr. passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at the Elizabeth House.
He was a resident of Hendersonville for 28 years and was the son of the late William and Janet Greene.
Mr. Greene served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member and Past Master of the Biltmore Masonic Lodge # 446 of Asheville and a 33 degree member of the Valley of Asheville Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Hendersonville Shrine Club, and V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Christine Greene; son, William A. Greene, Jr. and his wife, Lynn of Sugarloaf, Pa.; daughters, Deborah, Linda and Theresa Greene, all of Hendersonville, and grandchildren, William and Jordan Greene, of Sugarloaf, Pa.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors and Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday at Shuler Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hendersonville Shrine Club, P.O. Box 1901, Hendersonville, N.C. 28793.
