Patricia Ann (Bishop) Monteer, 66, of New Franklin, passed away at Cooper County Memorial Hospital on January 14, 2013.
Patricia was born to Paul Bishop and Maxine (Jackson) Bishop at Keller Memorial Hospital, Fayette, MO on April 17, 1946. Pat was the oldest of 5 children. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Bishop; her mother, Maxine Lillian (Jackson) Bishop and her husband, Leo D. Monteer, Sr. Leo and Pat were married on December 22, 1962 and remained devoted and faithful to each other for 49 years.
Pat is survived by three sons, Leo D. Monteer, Jr., and his wife Cheryl of Boonville; Kevin D. Monteer and his wife, Tracy of Boonville; Christopher W. Monteer and Bonnie Gerke of New Franklin; two brothers, Robbie Bishop and his wife, Wanda of California, MO; Jerry Bishop and his wife, Laura of New Franklin; and two sisters, Ricky Green and her husband, Arnold of Boonville and Betty Brown and her husband, Raymond of New Franklin.
Pat was blessed with 13 beautiful grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Lisa Monteer-Nuku and her husband Albert of Savoy, IL; Kaitlyn and Tyler Monteer of Aurora, IL; Sydney, Hayvn, Camryn and Peyton Monteer all of Boonville; Kristen, Kallie, Kassidy and Waylon Monteer of New Franklin; Adam Lixey-Monteer of Boonville and Greg Gerke of Pilot Grove.
In addition to being a very devoted wife and mother, Pat was an active and respected member of the First Baptist Church of New Franklin and had many friends. In her later years, when her mobility was limited, she used her computer and social networking to trade photos of her family and friends, keep in touch with her grandchildren and share the word of the Lord. Pat was a loving, kind and generous soul who will be missed by all. She is reunited in the Kingdom of Heaven with her beloved Leo, her husband, best friend and love of her life.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2013 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Clark's Chapel Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church of New Franklin are recommended in lieu of flowers.

Sorry to hear of Pat's passing. I worked with her at Toastmaster and she was always fun to work with. Certainly a good person who I know will be greatly missed. My sympathy to her family and friends.
