Albert Franklin Smith, of Boonville, formerly of New Franklin, passed away March 31, 2013 at Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville. He was 82 years old.

Mr. Smith was born in Cooper County, Missouri on April 4, 1930 to Hubert Lowell and Bessie Edna Eichelberger Smith. He married Cornelia Windsor on February 25, 1951 and she preceded him in death on April 16, 1991. Later he married Alice Brownfield on October 18, 1991 and she survives.
Albert was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Ameren/Union Electric in 1989 as foreman after being employed with the company for over thirty years. He also was self-employed in residential construction building several homes in New Franklin. His favorite hobbies included playing blue grass music, wood working, little league coaching, fishing and gardening. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Franklin.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Smith of Boonville; son, Russell Smith of Ft. Worth, Texas; step-son, Bob Brownfield of Blackwater, Missouri; step-daughter, Melanie Bryant of Rocheport, Missouri and three grandchildren, Britt Smith, Connor Smith and Colter Bryant.
In addition to his parents, and wife Cornelia, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Smith, a brother, Lowell "Hoke" Smith and by two sisters, Sue Brown and Eloise Dixon.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin with Rev. Don Woods officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.
