She was born July 2, 1913 in Clinton, MO, the youngest child of William R. and Josephine (Sutton) Veulemans. She spent her childhood in the Gravois Mills area. Due to the construction of Bagnell Dam, which would eventually result in their home becoming part of the flooded lake, the Veulemans family moved to the Tipton area in 1930. On September 2, 1936, she married Edward Franken, Sr., who preceded her in death on November 17, 1979. Anna was a homemaker all her married life. She enjoyed family events, playing cards and bingo, doing plastic canvas crafts, quilting, and working word search puzzles. For many years, she was an active member of the senior center. She was also a former member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include three daughters-JoAnne Lammers (Freddie) of Pilot Grove; Pat Rumans and Linda Knight (Larry) of Tipton; one son-David (Helen) Franken of Tipton; and one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Franken of Tipton. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Anne; two sons-Edward Franken, Jr., and Leo Franken; one son-in-law-Dean Rumans; one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, and one great-great granddaughter. Also preceding her in death were three brothers-John, Thomas, and William; and two sisters-Kathryn Veulemans and Marguerite Knipp.
