Bobby Earl Smith, 68, of Florence, died Monday, Dec. 27, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born on September 22, 1942, in Cooper County, a son of Clovis and Lucille Seifert Smith.
In 1962, in Cooper County, he was united in marriage to Barbara Fricke, who survives of Overland Park, KS. On June 18, 1992 he was united in marriage to Connie Butterwick, who survives of the home.
He was 1960 graduate of Laura Speed Elliott High School in Boonville. He moved to Sedalia from Boonville in 1962 to work for Walker Publishing Co., to operate their first Hiedelberg offset printing press. In 1973 he established Midland Printing Co. Inc. He loved simple pleasures like hunting, fishing and being in the country, he loved his family, they were very important to him. He was always interested in his children's and grandchildren's activities, and liked to tell people about them. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Besides his mother and his wife, he is survived by two sons, Brian Smith and his wife Kathi of Arberdeen, SD, and Barry Smith and his wife Marcia of Florence, Mo.; a step son, Matthew Wasson and his wife Jillian of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Kenneth Smith and his wife Elaine of Wooldridge; eight grandchildren, Tara, Nicholas, Sydney, Dalton, Brian, Lance, James and Issabella and three great grandchildren, Damon, MaKenna and Kylee. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 31 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Dr. Drew Hill officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of donors choice.
Honorary Bearers will be George Rohr, Bill Bergman, Sr., Bruce Berg, Stuart Dodd, and Jim Hart.
