Charles Oliver Rodgers, 70, of Lakeview Health Care in Boonville, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2011. A private service will be held following cremation at a later date. Charles was born April 10, 1941 in Otterville to the late Cecil and Beatrice (Richardson) Rodgers. Charles was married to Ruby Rodgers for 46 years on May 6, 1961. Ruby preceded Charles in death by just two weeks on November 3, 2011. Charles is survived by two daughters. Rhonda Wassman (David) and grandchildren Kayla Wassman; Kendall Wassman (Delilah) and great grandchildren Hayden Jenks and Chloe Wassman all of Boonville. Francine Draves (Joe) and grandchildren Travis Holmes; Sabrina Draves; Andrew Draves; Falisia Draves and Amy Holmes and great grandchildren Dalton Chenault; Dakota and Olivia Holmes as well as many nieces and nephews. Charles is also survived by a sister, Frances (Francis) Routt of Boonville, a brother Kenny Dale Rodgers of Denver, CO and a sister Betty Katherine Dolejak of Otterville. Charles had 9 aunts and uncles who preceded him in death. Charles drove a truck most of his life for Bob Case in Bunceton, Potter Trucking in Boonville and Ace Log and Lumber/Missouri Pacific Lumber formerly of New Franklin to name a few. Charles worked for Chris Holliday Construction before opening his own business, Charles Rodgers Construction where he concentrated on putting in sewers and digging basements. Charles made many friends through his trucking years and the time he worked with many contractors and customers. In 2003 declining health forced him to retire. Charles left behind many great friends he had made while residing at Lakeview. Charles was noted for being a hard working, loyal and giving friend to many. Memorials are suggested to the family for a memorial in honor of Charles to be dedicated at Lakeview Health Care. These can be sent to Rhonda Wassman, 17110 Case Hill Ct., Boonville, MO 65233.
