Chiyako "June" Schlueter, age 74, of Hastings, Fla., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Dec. 27, in Reston, Virginia while visiting family for the holidays.

Born in Moji-city, Japan, she was a longtime resident of Ponte Vedra and briefly lived in Missouri before moving to Hastings. June worked as an Otology Technician for Xomed (now Bristol – Myers Squibb) in Jacksonville for 16 years and took great pride in her work. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker and especially enjoyed being a grandmother and a doting owner to her three little dogs. She was a member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Schlueter of Hastings, sons, Mark Schlueter and his wife Sarah of Lawrenceville, Ga., Dan Schlueter and his wife Gayle of Vienna, Va., a sister, Itsue Tada of Moji-city, Japan, and 5 grandchildren, Catherine, Peter, Rachel, Matthew, and Nathan.
Services were held at on Monday at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in St. Augustine. Interment followed at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
