Clarence "Shorty" Bullard, 85, a Boonville native, passed away Saturday, June 11, after a short stay at Ashley Manor Care Center of Boonville.
The Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Truth Tabernacle Church on Bingham Road in Boonville with Rev. Charles Cook officiating. Visitation will be held for two hours prior. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Bullard was born March 23, 1926, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Alex Bradford and Marjorie Rose Bullard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II in the 1945 battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He married Peggy Jean Dungan and together they raised four children while he operated his own painting business. Peggy preceded him in death in February of 1984. He later married Judy Mayo in November of 1990. Shorty was a proud American that enjoyed camping, cooking, telling jokes and reminiscing good times.
Shorty is survived by his current wife, Judy; four children, Margie Allenbaugh and her husband Dave of Fayette, Mo.; Wayne Bullard and his wife Cindy of Prairie Home, Mo.; Bonnie Moser and her husband Mike of Franklin, Mo.; and Tina Downing of Boonville, Mo.; one sister, Bonnie Holliday of Boonville, Mo.; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Jean; and two brothers, Bill & Otis Bullard.
