Danny Dwain Bright, Sr., of Boonville, passed away at his home on June 3, 2016.
Mr. Bright was born on December 28, 1934 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to James Oliver and Nina Cook Bright. He served his nation in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with the University of Missouri Hospital as lead pipe fitter. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping and woodworking. Danny was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W.
Survivors include two sons, Danny Bright, Jr. and wife, Bernita; Joseph Bright and wife, Tamara; two daughters, Pam Pohle and Karen Huggins and husband, Marc; all of Boonville. Also cherishing his memory are 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Ward Bright on November 15, 2010. He later married Ella Mae Aitkens. She preceded him in death on October 29, 2013. Also preceding Danny in death was a son, Lloyd Bright and a grandson, Michael Bright.
Services honoring Danny's life will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home, 3855 Hwy. 5 North, New Franklin, Missouri. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial with military honors will follow the service at Clarks Chapel Cemetery in Franklin, Missouri.
