Dolores L. Leathers, 93, of Boonville, passed away at Katy Manor Care Center on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015

Funeral services for Dolores will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Monday, Jan. 26th at 11:00 A.M. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Dolores was born in Manhattan, KS, Feb. 26, 1921, the daughter of Joseph H. Prior and Elsie Mabel Tafflinger Prior. She met and married the love of her life at the age of sixteen and over the next ten years they had six daughters. Dolores was a strong willed person through necessity as she raised her girls, took care of her mother for many years and later her husband who had many health related problems. She sewed the girls clothes, learned minor mechanical repairs on the family car and anything else necessary to take care of her family. Dolores had crocheted lap robes for many nursing home patients, until her eye sight failed. She taught herself how to paint and displayed her artwork on the walls of her home. She had instigated several family traditions, such as monthly get togethers to celebrate that months birthdays and annual Easter Egg hunts.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar, in 1993, a daughter, Judy and two brothers, Clinton and Marion. She is survived by her daughters, Earlene, Peggy, Kathy, Nancy and Linda as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
