Donald Ray Simmons, 64, of Boonville, passed away at Four Seasons Living Care Center in Sedalia, Mo., Sept. 8, 2016.
Visitation for Donny will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Monday, Sept. 12, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Clark's Fork Trinity Lutheran Church at 11 a.m.. on Tuesday, Sept. 13th with Pastor Luther Herman and Pastor Paul Weisenborn officiating.
Donald Simmons was born in Boonville, Mo., July 30, 1952, the son of James W. Simmons and Mabel Barringhaus Simmons. Donny graduated from Boonville High School in 1970. He served his country with the U. S. Navy for four years, from 1970 to 1974, with the last year being stationed in Diego Garcia, Thailand. He married Victoria Heisler, August 31, 1974, at Clark's Fork Trinity Lutheran Church and they are the parents of one son. Donny enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and being outdoors in general. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed his grandchildren and their many activities.
Donny was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; William J. Simmons and Robert D. Simmons. He is survived by his wife, Vicky, of the home, his son, Donald William (Nina) Simmons of Prairie Home, Mo., and three grandchildren; Kody Dale and Allison Renee Simmons and Adler Armer. His brother, David A. (Elaine) Simmons, and sister, Cheri J. (Howard) Jones and sisters-in-law, Alice and Linda Simmons also survive as well as his aunts, Arlene (Sonny) Friedrich and Louise Overstreet and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Mid-Missouri Honor Flight for Veterans program or the Prairie Home Booster Club.
