Dora Ruth Rothgeb, 96, of Sedalia, formerly of Otterville, died Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove.

She was born May 6, 1915, in Florence, a daughter of the late Alva and Chloe (Cramer) Kruse. On June 30, 1936, she married Orville Rothgeb, who died June 14, 1991.
She worked for the shoe factories in Boonville and Tipton. She was a member of the New Lebanon Presbyterian Church until it disbanded in 1968. She was a member of the New Lebanon Preservation Society and worked tirelessly to restore the 1860 New Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a good cook and enjoyed quilting and playing cards.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna (Dennis) Holman, of Sedalia; a brother, Gene (Shirley) Kruse, of Fortuna; two grandchildren, Denise Bryan, of Columbia, and Randall Meekins, of Arizona; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Bryan, of the state of California, and Linsey Riley, of Marshall; two great-great-grandchildren, Lauren Riley & Brock Riley; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Richard Kruse, Charles Kruse, Kenneth Kruse, Clarence Kruse and Alva Kruse, Jr.; and a sister, Faye Belt.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 22, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial followed in New Lebanon Cemetery.
