Dottie Gerhardt, 82, of Boonville, passed away at Ashley Manor Care Center at 3:14 P.M. on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014.
Visitation for Dottie will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel Saturday evening, Sept 27, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 o'clock. Funeral services for Dottie will be will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ in Billingsville at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, Sept. 28th with Rev. Tom Brack officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Dottie Gerhardt was born March 23, 1932 at her home in Overton, MO, the daughter of Herman Kosfeld and Altha Rentschler Kosfeld. She married Edgar Gerhardt Sept. 24, 1950 in Boonville and they are the parents of two children. Dottie had worked as a caregiver at Cooper County Memorial Hospital for over twenty five years. Dottie needed to keep busy and as a result she had officially logged over 1000 volunteer hours with the pink ladies at the hospital. She was a very active member of St. John's UCC in Billingsville. She was well known in the community for her quilting skills and her favorite time was time spent with her grandchildren.
Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar in 2011 by her siblings; Brookie McDowell, Florence Meyer, MaryAnn Fenton, and Pansy Rose and Joe and Sam Kosfeld. She is survived by her children, Jerry (Samantha) Gerhardt of Boonville and Janice Cooper of Lake Ozark, MO as well as two sisters, Anita Hansett of Boonville and Carolyn Sue Berry of San Diego, CA. An empty spot will be left in the hearts of her grandchildren; Jason Gerhardt (Samie), Melanie Gerhardt, Stacie Reuter, Adam Million, Sam (Desiree) Million, Alex Cooper and Haileigh Sutphin as well as six great-grandchildren.
