Edward Richard Seifert, age 85, of Otterville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove, Missouri.
Edward was born June 27, 1933 to Sylvester Richard and Hanorah Lucille Seifert in Smithton, Missouri. He was a high school graduate of Otterville. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1956 Edward married Helen Louise Rugen at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clifton City, Missouri. They made their home in Otterville and were blessed with two children.
Edward worked for Bixler Gas Company for many years retiring as the manager. He was a member of American Legion and also the Moose in Sedalia, Missouri.
Those preceding Edward in death are his parents.
Surviving are his wife Helen of the home; his son Gene Seifert and his wife Pat; his daughter Rhonda Meyer and her husband Jim, all of Otterville; sister Mary Valdez and her husband Al of Denver, Colorado; granddaughters Amber Meyer of Kansas City, Missouri and Morgan Reynolds and her husband Joe of Lawrence, Kansas; grandsons Jonathan Seifert of New Hampshire and Preston Seifert of Otterville; and six great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial for Edward Richard Seifert will be at 11 a.m., Friday, July 27, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clifton City, with burial immediately following in St. Joseph Cemetery, Clifton City. Visitation will be held the evening before from 5 to 7 p.m. with Rosary beginning at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Otterville.Memorials for Edward R. Seifert are suggested to , St. Joseph Cemetery of Clifton City or a charity of donor's choice.
