Ethel Gilmore Evans, of St. Robert, Missouri, formerly of New Franklin, passed away February 1, 2013 at Sunset Village in St. Robert. She was 98 years old.

She was born August 2, 1914, a daughter of Charles Henry and Lucy Frances Ward Gilmore. She married Charles Evans in Denver, Colorado on April 13, 1949. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Evans was a World War II veteran with the United States Marine Corps serving at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She was a beautician for 60 years and owned and operated Cameo Coiffeurs in New Franklin from 1969 until her retirement in 1994.
Ethel was a member of the New Franklin Christian Church, the Missouri Cosmetology Association and enjoyed gardening and handwork.
Survivors include a daughter, Charleen Krieger and husband, Steve of Littleton, Colorado; by seven grandchildren including two grandchildren, Carey Charles Yacks and Brandon Eugene Yacks, that she helped her daughter, Frances, raise; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Hope Evans; three sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be a 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery or the New Franklin Christian Church.
