Evelyn Marie Simpson, 54, of Nelson, Mo., passed away on July 29 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Mo.

She was born Dec. 17, 1956, to James E. and Virginia Ballenger DeWitt in Knob Noster, Mo. She was married on Nov. 8, 1986, at the New Salem Baptist Church near Marshall Junction to Donald Simpson, who survives of the home. She was a member of the Nelson Baptist Church, and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW of Sedalia, Mo.
She worked as an EMT/firefighter of the Windsor District for several years. She was a nurse at ConAgra in Marshall for several years. She was a busdriver for the Blackwater and Orearville schools for several years. She was also a school nurse at the Blackwater School.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her mother Virginia DeWitt of Marshall Junction; two sons-Daniel Kirchhoff (Pam) of Marshall, Mo.; Bryan Simpson of Nelson, Mo.; three grandsons; one brother-James Ballenger of Indianapolis, Ind.; three sisters-Kathy Francis of Marshall; Helen Newton of Blackwater, and Amy Hager of Marshall Junction, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
Graveside services for Mrs. Simpson will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 2, at the Salt Fork Cemetery near Nelson.
Visitation will be Monday evening, Aug. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove.
