Fred R. Betts, 69, of Boonville, passed away at Cooper County Memorial Hospital on Thursday, November 10, 2011.

Funeral services for Mr. Betts will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, Nov.12, 2011 with Rev. Mel Eaton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 until time of service. Burial will be at a later date in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Fred R. Betts was born in Rockford, IL, March 2, 1942, the son of Floyd Ray Betts and Dorothy Ruth Ibach Betts. He married Judy Sinclair Sept. 1, 1972 in Tallula, IL. They are the parents of two children. Fred was an over the road truck driver for eighteen years. He then began driving a school bus, which he considered a hobby, in that he enjoyed the kids so much. He had served on the Howard County Fire District for many years. He also enjoyed fishing and drinking coffee with his friends. Fred was a family man and he worshiped his grandchildren.
Mr. Betts is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home, his daughters, Dodie Carmichael (Steve) of Boonville, and Cindi Eaton (Michael) of Gardner, KS. His brother, Ronald Betts (Dixie) of New Franklin also survives, as well as his grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn, Britney Nichole and Tiffany Dawn Carmichael, Tyler Scott Hundley and Holly Elizabeth Eaton .
