Gale John Lenz, 77, of Boonville, passed away suddenly, at the family farm on Sunday, Sept, 18, 2016.

Visitation for Gale will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel in Boonville on Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 5-8 p.m. and friends may call from noon until 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept 22, with Pastor Paul Weisenborn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Gale John Lenz was born in Norfolk, Neb. Sept 16, 1939, the son of Arnold George Lenz and Beata Anna Clara Dankert. The family moved to Missouri in 1940. Gale attended Zion Lutheran School. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Chambers, Neb., Oct. 1, 1939 and confirmed March 19, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church. He graduated from Bunceton High School in 1957. He married Kathleen Lorna Wenger August 18, 1961, in Alta Vista, Kan. and they are the parents of three children. Gale fulfilled his military obligation with the U. S. Army in the active reserve program. He was a highly respected and successful farmer who was very active in his community. He served 12 years on the AG COOP board, was very active in his church and the school. His favorite past time was farming, fishing and loving every day.
Gale was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Kenneth and sister, Karen Maloney. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, of the home, his children, Randy (Holly) Lenz of Boonville, Michelle (Dr. William) Smith of Marshall, Stephanie Tarry of Lee's Summit, Mo., as well as a brother-in-law, Richard (Jean) Maloney of Jefferson City, sister-in-law, MarianAnn Lenz of Bunceton, sister-in-law Geraldine (Rev. Dr. Mark) Wegener of Richfield, Minn., brother-in-law Rev. Dr. Timothy (Kathy) Wenger of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., brother-in- law Rev. Daniel (Gail) Wenger of Lorain, Ohio, and Rev. Mark (Pat) Wenger of Derby, Kan. His grandchildren, Brandon, Austin and Alex Thiel, and Mitchel and Rachel Lenz will miss him very much. He also leaves behind six Godchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request memorials be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church or School.
