Harlean Phillips, 78, of Pilot Grove, passed away May 29, 2010 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.
Ms. Phillips was born on February 28, 1932 to Henry and Carmen Tucker Helsey in Kansas City, MO. She was married on August 6, 1950 to James Ray Smith, who preceded her in death in 1998. She attended nursing school at Lakeside Hospital in Kansas City, MO and worked as an LPN at the University Hospital in Columbia, where she retired. She worked part-time at Rusk Rehabilitation Center in Columbia, and also part-time at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove. She attended the First Baptist Church of Pilot Grove and worked as a leader with the Girls Scouts.
She is survived by two daughters-Diana Long of Pilot Grove; Denise Petre of Macon; three sons-David Smith of Pilot Grove; Daniel Smith of Nelson; and Derek Smith of Kansas City; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ms. Phillips will be at 3:00 PM Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove with Pastor Jon Thoma officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Green Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Friday prior to the service.
