Harold Edward Wood, 84, Wood Heights, Mo., passed away, Monday, March 18, 2013 at his home.
Mr. Wood was born February 28, 1929, in Rayville, Mo., the son of Jesse O. and Evalena (O'Dell) Wood. On July 11, 1969, Harold married Norma Gean (Dempsey) Wood in Excelsior Springs. Norma survives of the home.
Mr. Wood served his country in the United States Army in Korea with the 1st Calvary Division. He was a life long member of the Richmond VFW and also a member of the Salem Christian Union Church. Harold worked and retired from the G.S.A as a master Mechanic after 30 years.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by one sister, Myrtle Rademann and one brother, Leon Wood.
In addition to his wife Norma Wood of Wood Heights, Harold is survived by two daughters, Sherri (Doug) Loomis of Excelsior Springs and Jeanne (Kevin) Williams of Excelsior Springs; three step-sons, David (Susan) Lynch of North Carolina, Barry (Marilyn) Lynch of Excelsior Springs, and John (Linda) Lynch of Texas; one sister, Mildred (Myron) Werle of Boonville and thirteen grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013 with funeral services starting at 11:00 a.m., at Polley Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Burial will be at the Crowley Cemetery in Rayville, Mo.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Salem Christian Union Church.
