Helen M. Tyree, 91, of Boonville, passed away at Hartmann Village, in Boonville, on Monday, June 1, 2015.
Memorial services for Helen will be held at Santa Fe Trail Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015, with Rev. Jon Thoma officiating. Family will receive friends from 10 o'clock until time of service. Private inurnment at Walnut Grove Cemetery following the service.
Helen Marie Tyree was born in Calloway County May 14, 1924, the daughter of Allie Benton Wilson and Anna Sims Wilson. She married Don Tyree in Jefferson City in 1942 and they are the parents of two children. Helen was a well known and respected beauty salon operator for over 40 years. She enjoyed serving her many loyal clients, until her retirement in 1999. Helen was an accomplished cook and enjoyed trying new recipes on her family, much to their delight!
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don, and by two brothers, Donnie and Arthur Wilson. She is survived by her children, Dennis (Kathy) Tyree of Taos, NM and Debby (John) Boyer of Boonville. She will be truly missed by her grandchildren, Russ and Brad Boyer of Columbia; Mandy Boyer, of Boonville; Chris Boyer, of Orlando, FL; Shannon Tyree, of Belton, MO; Tate Tyree of Lees Summit; and Courtney Major of Overland Park, KS; and her nine great-grandchildren. Her brother, Norman Wilson of New Bloomfield and sister, Faye Bell of Columbia, also survive.
Memorials are suggested to the Preferred Hospice of Columbia or Celebrate Recovery in care of the Santa Fe Trail Baptist Church.
