Mrs. Helen May Wilmsmeyer, 78, of New Franklin, passed away January 8, 2015 at Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville.

Helen was born January 19, 1936 in Boonville, Missouri to the late George and Eunice Hill Hein. She married Richard William Wilmsmeyer on November 7, 1964 at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in New Franklin. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wilmsmeyer was employed as a certified nurse's aide for over 35 years at St. Joseph's Hospital and Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville. She was a longtime member of Immanuel United Church of Christ where she had served as secretary of the Women's Fellowship.
She had also served for many years on the board of directors of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Association, the New Franklin Senior Housing and the Silver Liners Senior Center. Her favorite activities included baking cakes, pies and cookies and doing craft work.
She is lovingly remembered by two sons, Chris William Wilmsmeyer and Randall Jay Wilmsmeyer and wife Jessi; two grandchildren, Catlynn Wilmsmeyer and Alyssa Welch all of New Franklin; two brothers, Ralph Hein of Boonville and Larry Hein of Independence and a sister, Doris Sears of Independence.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur and Norbert Hein and two sisters, Ruth Muntzel and Frances Dunn.
Services honoring Helen's life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2015 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in New Franklin. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3–5 p.m. at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin.
