Helen R. Meyer, 91, of Boonville, passed away at Cooper County Memorial Hospital on Monday, May 5, 2014.

The funeral service for Helen will be on Thursday morning, May 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor John Roach officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m.Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Thacher Funeral Home, 629 East Morgan Street, Boonville, MO 65233.
Helen was born on November 28, 1922, the daughter of William F. (Cap) and Sophia Lohse Fricke. She was a 1940 graduate of Boonville High School. On November 28, 1946, she was united in marriage to Hillard E. Meyer at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clarks Fork. She was a homemaker and worked for a number of years in food service for the Boonville Public Schools. Helen was a member of Immanuel Luthern Church, Boonville, and was active in the LWML / Ladies Aid for many years. She was a lifelong resident of Cooper County.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006; her parents, one brother, Norbert Fricke, and two sisters, Lucille Brownfield and Marcella Brickner.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane Cummins and her husband, Gene, of Boonville, Nancy Leonard and her husband, Nelson, of Bellair, five grandsons: Scott Cummins and his wife Jami, Basehor, KS; Mark Cummins and his wife, Lindsay, Lenexa, KS; Abiel Leonard, Billingsville; Nathaniel (B) Leonard and his wife, Lindsay, Boonville and Ben Leonard and his fiancée, Courtney Young, Boonville; and five great-grandchildren, Juliana and Gabriel Cummins, Georgia Cummins, Nolan and Laila Leonard.
