James W. Morton, 86, of Boonville, passed away at Boone Hospital Center on Wednesday, April 13, 2011.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Friday evening Apr. 15, from 6:00 until 8:00 0'clock. Funeral services will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Boonville at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, Apr. 16, 2011, with Rev. John Roach officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
James Wallace Morton was born in Boonville, August 29, 1924, the son of Wallace Leslie Morton and Dora Agnes Sloan Morton. Jim was a well known farmer in the Boonville area until his retirement several years ago. He served his country as a Marine in WW II and was discharged in 1945. Jim married Lavill Lenz Nov. 2, 1996 in St. Joseph, MO. Jim truly enjoyed his life for the past fifteen years, as they traveled the world together and enjoyed each others company.
Mr. Morton was preceded in death by his parents and by his first wife, Edna Mae; his brother, John Robert Morton and a sister, Dorothy Jewett. He is survived by his wife, Lavill, of the home, three step daughters, Darlene Schowengerdt of Kansas City, MO, Denise Wieland of Tucson, AZ. and Diane Hladik of Kansas City as well as five step grandchildren and one great step grandchild. His sisters, Mary Frances Oswald of Boonville and Elizabeth Arth of Olathe, KS also survive, as well as many nieces and nephews.
