Jimmie Ross Simmons, 53, passed away on September 24, 2014, comforted in the arms of his girlfriend, Melissa E. Mackey at his sister's home, Peggy Leonard (nee Simmons) in Boonville, Missouri.

Memorial services will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at William Wood Funeral Home, 517 Fourth Street, Boonville, Missouri.
Jimmie was born on August 28, 1961 in Boonville, Missouri to Billy Ross & Betty Lynn Simmons. He was a self-employed painter.
Jimmie fought a courageous battle and did it with such grace. Most importantly he stood true to himself through his commitment to sobriety and his conscious contact with his savior, Jesus Christ. Jimmie's faith never wavered and neither did his love for his nephews and his niece.
Jimmie left this earth to join his mother and doting father, his brother, David (Rat) Simmons and his sister, Donna Simmons.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Melissa E. Mackey, his sister, Peggy Leonard, his 3 nephews, Travis Leonard, Nicholas Leonard, Dustin Leonard and his niece, Amber Leonard. Jimmie was a loving great uncle and friend to many.
