John E. Foster, 81, of Boonville passed away on Thursday morning, Nov. 28, 2013 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Funeral services for John will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd, 2013 with his son-in-law, Russell Bradshaw, officiating. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service, from 10:00 to 12:00. Burial will follow at the Bunceton Masonic Cemetery.
John Elbert Foster was born in Boonville, MO, Feb. 16, 1932, the son of Leroy Foster and Mabel Fletcher Foster. John graduated from Boonville High School and served his country with the U.S. Army on the front lines of the Korean War. He had worked for many years with the Massman construction company on their river projects. John was a quiet individual who enjoyed fishing, gardening, his family and he felt the need to take care of and feed the neighbors cats as well as any strays that may have showed up.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jean, and by brothers, Jack and Richard Foster. He is survived by his children; Pam (Randy) Oswald, Patty (Russ) Bradshaw of Boonville, and Paula (Bobbie) Renfrow of Blackwater. His sister Doris Ivy; brothers, Donnie, Ralph and Kenny Foster and his grandchildren; Matthew, Brandon, Evan, Jesse and Rachel Oswald, Malinda Ivy Duffin, Maggie Schanzmeyer, Cassidy, Preston, Paige and Kennedy Renfrow and his great-grandchildren; Bruce Oswald, Marcus Oswald, Victoria Leal, Landon Oswald, Julia Paige Oswald, Miles Oswald and Wyatt Duffin also survive, as well as one on the way.
Memorials are suggested to the Boonville Animal Shelter or Boonslick Library.
