Dr. John M. Rorah passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at South Hampton Place in Columbia, MO.
There will be a celebration of life at Christ Church Episcopal, 4th and Vine Sts., Boonville, MO at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Visitation will be held between 6:00 PM and 8 PM on Monday evening April 21, 2014 at Christ Church Episcopal, 4th and Vine Sts., Boonville, MO.
Dr. Rorah was born in Menlo Iowa July 31, 1923 the Son of Albert B. Rorah and Alta Forcht Rorah.
He joined the Navy in 1943 and served in the South Pacific as Medical Corpsman and was honorably discharged in 1948. John then entered Logan Chiropractic College, St. Louis, MO and graduated in 1952. After graduation he married his sweetheart Sarah P. Trelford in St. Louis.
The young couple then moved to Boonville in 1953 where Dr. Rorah started his Chiropractic career and family.
He was dedicated to his Chiropratic profession and he cared deeply for the health of all his patients. Dr. Rorah was a member of VFW, American Legion, Grand Lodge of Missouri Cooper #36 AF and AM, Lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans and a member of the Missouri Chiropractors Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Margaret Jensen and Doris Root both of Iowa. Dr. Rorah is survived by his wife, Sarah (Sally) and three Sons, Michael T. Rorah of Panama City Beach, Florida, Robert J. Rorah, Boonville and John L. Rorah and his wife Rosalie of Boonville, five Grandsons, Tyler Rorah, Michael Rorah, Cole Rorah, Drayton Rorah, Nicholas Rorah and one Grandaughter, Caroline Rorah.
Memorials may be made to Christ Church Episcopal, Boonville or Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia, MO.
