Johnny W. Whitehurse, 81, of Boonville, passed away at Ashley Manor Care Center on Friday evening, July 15, 2016.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, with Father Basil Eruo celebrating. Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m.. Burial will follow the mass in the church cemetery.
Johnny Wayne Whitehurse was born March 4, 1935, in Boonville, the son of John O. Whitehurse and Gertrude Stith Whitehurse. Johnny graduated from Boonville High School in 1953. He married Bonnie Lancaster, Oct. 28, 1954 in Parsons, Kansas and they are the parents of three children. He served time with the Army National Guard for several years. Johnny was a farmer his entire life and he especially enjoyed the livestock aspect of farming. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Bonnie, of the home, his children; John David (Sharon) Whitehurse of Boonville, Janet Coleen (Phil) McCoy of Phoenix, Ariz. and Lisa Jane (David) Andler of Aviano, Italy. His siblings; Helen Sellmeyer and Jerry Whitehurse of Boonville, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
