Joseph Edgar Boggs, Jr., of Franklin, Missouri passed away June 14, 2013 at Boone Hospital Center. He was 77 years old.

Mr. Boggs was born January 20, 1936 in Petersburg, Missouri, a son of Joseph Edgar and Marjorie Kathyran HolstBoggs. He married Ruby Sapp on March 2, 1961 in Midway, Missouri. She preceded him in death August 23, 1999.
Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran stationed in Germany for much of his enlistment. He was a former farmerand former owner and operator of Boggs Construction. In the late 1980's he started Bogg's Auto Salvage in Franklin which is still operated by his family. He was a member of Boonesboro Christian Church and the Eagle's Lodge.
Survivors include a son, Shannon Boggs and wife, Andrea of Franklin; a daughter, Sheila Burnett and husband, Nelson of New Franklin; brothers, Earl Boggs of Franklin; Kenneth Boggs and wife, Sharon of Wright City, Missouri and Harry Boggs and wife, Wanda of Parkville, Missouri and a brother-in-law, Coy Collins of Pettigrew, Arkansas. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Joseph and John Boggs and Lauren, Brian and Steven Burnett and great-grandchildren, Lydia, Kallie and Tayler Burnett.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Barry Joseph Boggs; and a sister Lavonna Collins.
Funeral services 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 19 at Boonesboro Christian Church with Rev. Roger McMurry officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin.
Burial with military honors will be at Boonesboro Cemetery.
