Karen L. Cooper, 72, of Boonville passed away unexpectedly, at Cooper County Memorial Hospital, Wednesday evening, June 29, 2016.

Funeral services for Karen will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016, with Rev. Nick Campbell officiating. Visitation will be for three hours prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Karen Lee Cooper was born Sept. 5, 1943 in Sandwich, Ill., the daughter of Ralph Solberg and Marilyn Duffy Solberg. Karen graduated as valedictorian of the class of 1961 from Serena Illinois High School. She married Jack Cooper in Sheridan, Ill., Aug. 5, 1961. The family moved back to Boonville, Jack's home town, in 1973. Karen had worked with Kentucky Finance in Boonville and Columbia for many years, until disability forced her retirement in 1999. She was also the bookkeeper for the family business, Cooper Welding.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Lori Ann, and a son, Jeff Cooper. She is survived by her husband, Jack Cooper, of the home, two sons, Brian (Stephanie) Cooper of Rocheport, and Mark Cooper, of Boonville, as well as her loving grandchildren, Abbey and Campbell Cooper of Rocheport and Dylan Cooper of Boonville. Her sister, Jean (David) Blome of Seneca, Ill. also survive as well as many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
Memorials are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
