Leo H. Schoen, 80, of Boonville, passed away at Boone Hospital Center on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015.

Visitation for Leo will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Sunday afternoon, Sept 27, from 3-5 p.m.. Services will be held at Davis Chapel at 10 a.m.. on Monday, Sept. 28, with burial following in Walnut Grove Cemetery with full Military Honors.
Leo Herbert Schoen was born Dec. 19, 1934 in Pilot Grove, Mo., the son of Herbert John Schoen and Elizabeth Marie Wallje. Leo enlisted into the U.S. Navy at a very young age and proudly served his country for four years. He married Betty Louise Walters Feb. 7, 1959 and they are parents to nine children. Leo spent his entire life in the Boonville area where he had worked in manufacturing for Boben Heel Co. for over 40 years, until it closed, and McGraw Manufacturing until they closed their facility in Boonville. In retirement, Leo enjoyed interacting with the children whom he saw every day as a crossing guard for the past 12 years. He was a regular participant and faithful listener of KWRT's party line. He kept up with St. Louis Cardinal baseball and enjoyed fishing when he could find time.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty in 2002, two sons, Rocky and Ricky Schoen, brothers, Donald and Richard Schoen and by a granddaughter. He is survived by his sons; Dale Schoen of Kansas City, Mike (Debbie) Schoen of Sedalia, Rusty (Michelle) Schoen of North Dakota and Harold (Shantina) Schoen of Tipton, and daughters; Cindy (Daniel) Rumans of Bunceton, Carolyn (Randy) Kammerich of Pilot Grove, Lisa (Brad) Bruce of Boonville and his daughter-in-law, Ruby Schoen of Marshall. His siblings, J.E. Schoen of San Diego, Calif. and Elsa Santos of Temple, Texas and Betty Golden of Boonville also survive, as well as 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
