Merrill M. Schumaker, 95, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, June 28, at Oak Tree Villa.

She was born March 31, 1916, in Fayette, Missouri, the daughter of the late Grainger and Lutecia Minor.
On July 11, 1932, she was united in marriage in Detroit, Michigan, to Herb H. Schumaker who preceded her in death in 1979.
Merrill was a graduate of Fayette Public Schools. Merrill and Herb owned and operated a Shell Gas Station in Michigan. They then moved to Boonville, Missouri, where they owned and operated another Shell Gas Station. In 1961 they moved to Warrensburg, Missouri, where they started Schumaker Hardware and operated it for 18 years.
She was a member of Capital City Christian Church. She enjoyed trout fishing, traveling and bird watching especially Cardinals.
She is survived by one daughter: Dana Snodgrass of Jefferson City; one sister: Martha Thorpe of St. Joseph, Missouri; three grandchildren: Terrie Beul husband Mike of Jefferson City, Michael Imhoff wife Lisa of Columbia and Timothy Imhoff of Jefferson City and eight great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her three special care-givers.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by son Gary Schumaker and one identical sister Melba Richardson.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, June 30, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 1, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Young officiating. Interment will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, July 1, at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Sedalia, Missouri.
