Michael Todd Gunderson, 38, of New Franklin, passed away at Boone Hospital Center on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011.
Visitation for Mike will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel, in Boonville, on Monday evening, Aug. 15, 2011 from 4:00 until 8:00 o'clock. Funeral services will be at 8:00 P.M. immediately following the visitation, with Rev. Jeff Glandon officiating. Mike's wishes were to be cremated, which will take place after the service.
Michael Todd Gunderson was born in South Korea on June 20, 1973. His adoptive parents are Loyal E. Gunderson and Nina Darakjian Gunderson. Mike was a ball of fire and he touched the lives of all that knew him. He had worked as host at Isle of Capri for ten years and was a customer favorite. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone at anytime. Mike loved to be around people and joke around with them. He enjoyed fishing, when he could, playing cards, watching WWE wrestling, Cardinal ball games, and his special treat was watching his son, Ethan, play sports and playing tractors with his youngest son, Kaleb.
Mike is survived by his father, Loyal and his step-mother, Sissy, of Granite City, IL; his grandmother Ruby Gunderson of Granite City, IL; by his children Ethan Gunderson, of Boonville and Kaleb Gunderson of New Franklin. His significant other, Sarah Divine of New Franklin also survives. Mike will be missed by all those that knew him as well. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nina Darakjian Gunderson.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggest memorials be directed to Davis Funeral Chapel for the purpose of forming a trust fund for his children, Ethan and Kaleb's education.
