Michael Wayne Hundley, 58, of Boonville, passed away at Landmark Hospital in Columbia on Wednesday, July11, 2012 the day before his 59th birthday.
Funeral services for Mike will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel at 11:00 o'clock Tuesday morning, July 17th, 2012 with Rev. Mel Eaton officiating. Visitation will be at Davis Funeral Chapel on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 o'clock. Friends may call from noon until time of the service.
Mike Hundley was born in Boonville, July 12, 1953, the son of Walter Richard Hundley Jr. and Norma Allen Hundley. Mike had worked in Boonville until health problems had disabled him. Mike had been on kidney dialysis for many years and had had two kidney transplants. He accepted his situation realistically and with courage and an unbelievable toughness. He never complained, lived life to the fullest, never met a stranger, and made friends wherever he went. Mike enjoyed attending local sporting events where he seemed, always to meet even more people and make more friends.
Mr. Hundley was preceded in death by his parents and one infant daughter, Kristina. Mike is survived by his children, Travis (Wendy) Hundley of New Franklin, MO, Michelle (Wayne) Bishop, Jason (Missy) Hundley and Karissa McCoy, all of Boonville. His siblings, Larry (Donna) Hundley of Boonville, Margaret (Dennis) Ridgewell of New Franklin, Sharon Spoor, Beverly (David) Purvis and Peggy Jobe, all of Boonville, as well as thirteen grandchildren, also survive.
Memorials are suggested to the American Kidney Foundation or to Davis Funeral Chapel.
