Nancy Ann Hittner, 71, of Salina, died Sunday, July 4, 2010. She was born the daughter of Vincent and Anna (Franke) Glatter on February 11, 1939 in Kearney, Nebraska. She was married to Anthony "Danny" L. Hittner August 8, 1960.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Margaret I. Rader.
Mrs. Hittner was a devoted wife and mother and beloved school teacher. She was a member of the National Educator's Association and retired after 22 years of service in the Salina School District. She was also a member of the Salina Municipal Band. She was an avid bridge player and bicyclist who participated in Biking Across Kansas several times.
Nancy is survived by her husband Anthony of the home, two daughters Teresa A. Hittner of Interlochen, Michigan, and Catherine M. Hittner and husband Jim Bechle of Aurora, Colorado, son Daniel V. Hittner and wife Michelle of Wichita, Kansas, brother Donald V. Glatter of Amherst, Nebraska, sister Sr. Ann Vincent CSJ of Concordia, Kansas, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 13 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Burr Oak Lane, Salina. Burial will be in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Salina. A vigil service will be held 7:30 PM Monday at the church. To honor Nancy's wishes, please send no flowers or plants. Instead, memorials may be made to the College of Saint Mary in Omaha or St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and may be left at or sent in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth Street, Salina.
