Opal Irene Maier, 75, of Boonville passed away Monday evening November 16, 2015 at her home surrounded by family and friends.

Visitation for Opal will be Thursday evening November 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 20 at Firm Foundation Foursquare Church with Rev. Mel Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Howard County.
Opal Irene Maier was born March 27, 1940, in Boonville, Mo., the daughter of Wilbur Douglas Morrow and Sarah Robinson Morrow. Opal married Harold Gene Maier on April 19, 1976 at the Foursquare Church in Boonville. Opal was well known, loved and respected by many customers and staff where she had worked for many years at Boonville IGA and C&R Market. Opal and Harold loved to travel the United States and only had five states to go before having visited all 50. She loved to play cards (rummy) with her granddaughters.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Jimmy and Albert Morrow and her sister, Carol Bishop. She is survived by her husband, Harold Gene of the home, her son, David Wayne McGehee of Lee's Summit, Mo., brother, Roy Morrow (Liz) of Tipton, Mo., sister, Frances Backus (Charlie) of Prairie Home, Mo., and stepdaughter, Raygene Maier of Maryland . She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth and Laura Grace McGehee and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial be directed to Firm Foundation Foursquare Church or the family.
