Phoebe Ellen LeGrant, 82, of Boonville passed away Monday morning October 25 at her home surrounded by her family.
Visitation for Phoebe will be 10 to 11a.m. Thursday morning October 28 at Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11a.m. with Rev. Scott Ehrlich officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Phoebe Ellen LeGrant was born June 18, 1928 in Boonville, the daughter of Marvin Foster and Gladys Bishop Foster. Phoebe was married to Paul B. Huffman in 1950; he died as the result of a construction accident. Phoebe later married Bill LeGrant in 1971. She was owner and operator of the Hilltop Lounge in Boonville with her husband Bill for a number of years. She enjoyed working in the yard, her animals and enjoyed going to the boat. Most of all her love was for her family, especially her grandchildren. Her family often called her the Strongest Woman they knew.
Phoebe is preceded in death by her husband, Bill, by a son, James Michael Huffman and three brothers, Jerry, Gary and Morris Foster and by two sisters, Mary Ann Stewart, and Frances Stewart. She is survived by her children; Larry, Eddie and Ronnie Huffman, Becky Huffman and Linda Doyle, all of Boonville. She is also survived by two sisters, Janet Waibel of Boonville and Rosalie Oliveros from the state of Virginia. Her eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great, grandchildren also survive.
