Ralph Huffstutter, 91, of Naples, Fla., passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital.

Ralph was born Jan.24, 1920, in Obion, Tenn., to Melvin and Virginia Puckett Huffstutter. He married Betty Weisenborn on June 1, 1943, in St. Joseph, Mo., and she preceded him in death in 2004.
Ralph joined the U.S. Army Air Corp in 1941 and served in Europe during World War II. He was a flight engineer in both a B-17 and B-24.
After his military service he joined his father-in-law in the commercial orchard business in St. Joseph, Mo. He formed Huffstutter Orchards in 1957 and purchased orchards in New Franklin, Mo., Boonville, Mo. and Summer Hill, Ill. He sold the business to his son in 1986 and retired to Naples, Fla.
Ralph served on the school board in St. Joseph, Mo., as Treasurer. He was president of the Missouri State Horticulture Society and a 32 degree Mason. He was a board member of the Exchange Bank of New Franklin. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Fayette, Mo.
Survivors include: his son, Richard Knox Huffstutter and wife Pamela of Columbia; twin grandchildren, Wesley Knox Huffstutter and wife Amanda of Ann Arbor, MI and Clayton Randolph Huffstutter and wife Shelly of Dallas, Texas, and three great grandchildren, Sayre, Calla and Hutcheson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
The family would like to express thanks to the staff at Boone Landing and to the nurses and staff at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital Community Living Center.
Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church in Fayette, Mo.
