Raymond Floyd Hein, 83, of Bunceton, passed away at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Columbia on Friday, September 11, 2015.

Funeral services for Floyd will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Lone Elm at 2 o'clock on Tuesday, Sept. 15, with Pastor Paul Weisenborn officiating. Visitation will be at the church two hours prior to the service, from noon until time of service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Davis Funeral Chapel.
Raymond Floyd Hein was born in Boonville, Mo. March 20, 1932, the son of Carl Henry Hein and Ilda Brandes Hein. He married Leta Hickam Oct. 13, 1951 in Bunceton and they are the parents of three children. They have lived in the Bunceton area their entire married life where Floyd was self-employed in the backhoe and gravel business. He had worked for the Cooper County Special Road Districts in Bunceton and Syracuse for many years. He loved entertaining his grandchildren and was active with youth as a coach with the Babe Ruth Baseball organization. He and his loving wife of 64 years enjoyed time with each other, especially their daily dates to McDonalds for several years.
Floyd was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Dallas Hein and two brothers, Farris and Virgil Hein. He is survived by his wife, Leta, of the home, his children, Donald Ray (Donna Kay) Hein, Gina Leah (Steve) Weber, and his daughter-in-law, Shirley Hein, all of Bunceton, His siblings, Howard (Betty) Hein of Stover and Barbara Klienast of Cedar Rapids, Iowa also surviving are: grandchildren Justin, Josh and Kyle Hein, Aletha Knipp, Brett and Brandon Weber and David Zimmerman and great-grandchildren, Brooke, Michaela, Austin, Hunter and Nick Griffin, David and Emma Knipp, Alexia and Waylon Hein, Aaydin and Averi Zimmerman, Wyatt and Cole Weber and Emma Mize.
Memorials are suggested to Bunceton Federated Church or to Zion Lutheran Church.
