Robert "Bob" Eugene Alvis, 74, of Boonville passed away Friday evening June 4 at his home surrounded by his family.
There are no services planned, Bob donated his body to the Gift of Body Program at the University of Missouri School of Medicine.
Bob was born February 27, 1936 in Columbia, MO to LW Alvis and Ruby Francis Griffin Alvis. He married Donna Harpin May 22, 1970 in Sedalia, MO. Bob graduated from Hickman High School in Columbia and went on to serve his country in the US Army. He worked at Red Weir Athletic Supplies in Columbia for many years, retiring from there in 1999. He had a true love for sports and enjoyed officiating high school football during part of his career. Above all, was his love for his family, especially his grandchildren.
Bob was preceded on death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Donna of the home, his son, Greg Alvis and wife Melissa of Cedar Hill, TX, his daughters, Tammy Bryant and husband Mitch, of Belleville, IL, Toni Wise of Columbia, MO, and Tari Frederick and husband Troy of Boonville. A sister, Glenda Nichols and husband Bob of Columbia and six grandchildren also survive.
