Robert R. Edwards, 69, of Englewood, Florida, passed away on March 6, 2014 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.
Funeral services for Bob will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel in Boonville at 12:00 noon on Thursday, March 13 and family will receive friends from 11:00 o'clock until time of service. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Robert Roy Edwards was born in Cooper County, August 26, 1944, the son of John Garnett Edwards and Virginia Florence Byler Edwards. Bob graduated from Prairie Home High School in 1962 and attended Kansas City Business College. He married Margie Gayle Shelton on Sept. 2, 1972 at New Hope Baptist Church. He was employed at the University Medical Center in Columbia prior to working at McGraw Edison in Boonville, MO. In 1974 he was employed as Credit Manager at Revere Ware in Clinton, IL where he and his family lived for twenty years. His employment took him to Corning, NY where he worked with Corning, Inc. and World Kitchen until his retirement in 2000. After retirement they relocated to Branson, MO and most recently to the Englewood, FL area.
Bob is survived by his wife, Margie Gayle, of the home, (and his faithful companion, Mr. Pupper); his sons, Timothy Robert Edwards and wife Angela of Hollister, MO and children; Jayden and Colton Hester. Andrew Scott Edwards and his wife, Maranda, of Painted Post, NY. and children; Cole and Caden Edwards. He is also survived by his sisters, Shirley Potter (Frank) of Boonville, and Nevelyn (Norman) Nivens of Jamestown, MO and brothers, Gilbert (Margaret) Edwards of Kansas City and Ronald (Marilyn) Edwards of Boonville as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Riley and Wayne Edwards.
