Robert Sidney 'Sid' Walters, 87, of rural Boonville, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 30.
Visitation for Sid will be at Davis Funeral Chapel on Tuesday July 5, from 6 until 8 p.m. Friends may call from noon until time of the visitation.
Funeral services will be held at the Davis Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, with Rev. Harold Young officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Sid Walters was born at Linn Creek, Missouri, April 1, 1924, the son of Logan S. Walters and Bobbie Piles. Mr. Walters married his first wife Elma Smith in 1948. In 1962, He married Nadine Toellner of Lone Elm, and he married his third wife Maxine Porterfield of Garden City, Kan., in 1993. He was a prominent farmer and cattleman in the Boonslick area. Sid lived life to the fullest, both business wise and socially. He enjoyed entertaining all he met, by telling stories of his life, as well as being the local 'historian'. There was never a dull moment when he was present, as anyone who knew him, would verify.
 He is preceded in death by his three wives and his son Randy who passed in 2002. In addition, he is preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his son, Jim Walters and his wife, Jackie of Boonville and by his daughter, Rita Walters-Peyton and her husband Doug, of San Diego, Calif. In addition, He will be missed by his grandchildren; Gabe Walters, of Kansas City, Mo., and Jesse, Tanner and Cassidy Walters of Boonville. His sister-in-law, Gladys Anderson as well as several nieces and nephews also survive.
