Vernon Ray "Bo" Landon, 82, of Barnett passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Laurie Care Center. He was born on August 10, 1932 in Blackwater, Missouri the son of Rosewell and Rosa (Racey) Landon, who preceded him in death.
He proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1952-1954 fighting for our country in the Korean War. His service to our country will forever be remembered by the freedoms that we share.
After serving in the Army, he came home to the United States and became a truck driver, owning his own trucking company. He hauled many loads of mules, other livestock, and various freight around our great nation. He liked seeing the countryside and enjoyed the people he met along the way. He retired at the age of 72.
Bo was a good man, fought hard for our freedom and treasured the time he spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by: one son: Russell Landon of Barnett; two daughters: Debbie Landon of Eldon and Reba Landon of Lake Ozark; one twin sister: Vivion "Bee" (Ernest) Weston of New Franklin; nine grandchildren: Corneila Williams, Steven Wickham, Christy Eadds, Freddie Eadds, Shannon Jones, Rachel Landon, Robin Landon, Alexis Farris and Morgan Landon and 14 great grandchildren: Sebastion, Elijah, Darian, Dustin, Ormeri, Ann Marie, Erin, Patreauna, Patrick, Dawson, Liamn, Scarlett, Ava, and Kylee. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Daimi Landon and R.D. Landon, Jr.; three sisters and brother-in-laws: Nadiene (Ray) Vivian, Mildred (Archie) Connie, and Dorothy (Jim) Barron.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Peninsula Cemetery in Blackwater, Missouri. Inurnment will follow at Peninsula Cemetery in Blackwater, Missouri. Expressions of sympathy may be made to: The Family of Vernon Ray "Bo" Landon.
