Walter W. "Buck" Draffen, Jr., age 78, of Tipton, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. He was born June 9, 1936, in Bunceton, Missouri, a son of the late Wade and Irene (Barron) Draffen.
Buck was an over the road truck driver, retiring from Potter Trucking in Boonville.
He expressed his religion through the Baptist faith. Buck enjoyed playing snooker and working on cars and trucks.
He is survived by his children, Carolyn Scott and husband Mark Boyd of Eugene, Oregon, Nancy Draffen of Jefferson City, Missouri, Gerard Draffen of the state of California, Daniel Draffen and wife Tammie of House Springs, Missouri, Sara Draffen of Jefferson City, Missouri, Tommy Draffen of Arizona, Mark Draffen of Jefferson City, Missouri and David Draffen of Jefferson City, Missouri; seven grandchildren; his brother, Gene Draffen and wife Joyce of Tipton, Missouri; his sister, Fern Cary of Versailles, Missouri and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Lynn Draffen, an infant sister, Eleanor Draffen and his brother, Ward H. Draffen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 15th, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Brother Gary Patterson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
