William E. (Bill) Barlow, 83, of Boonville, passed away Jan. 27, 2016 at Ashley Manor Care Center.
Visitation for Bill will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel in Boonville from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31 with the rosary being recited at 4 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Basil Euro celebrating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Bill was born March 19, 1932 in Boonville, Mo., the son of Ernest Barlow and Margaret Sloan Barlow. Bill enlisted into the U.S. Air Force serving from 1951-1954. He married Eulalia (Lale) Aholt on Feb. 27, 1954 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glasgow. They had three children: Billy, Bridget and Barbara. They opened a paint and decorating business in Glasgow and in 1970 they returned to Boonville where Bill built a successful insurance business with American Family Insurance. After his retirement in 1997 he and Lale enjoyed traveling the world, wintering in Texas with friends and summering in Oregon with his grandchildren. Bill was a devout and active member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He was an active and lifetime member of the Knight of Columbus holding numerous state and local positions and was a proud member of the Fourth Degree Knights.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, in 2009, and by six sisters. He is survived by his children; Bill (Heidi) Barlow of McMinnville, Oregon, Bridget Jones of Boonville and Barb (Jeanine) of Columbia and his sister, Alice Larm, of Boonville. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren; Jill Bowman, Jennifer Barksey, B.J., Christopher, Ben and Jake Barlow, Matt Jones and Sarah Ronnfeldt and 12 great-grandchildren: Joey, Lexi, Andrew, Brady, Gabe, Christian, Lucas, Oliver, Owen, Jaden, Brooklyn and Reagan, as well as his beloved and faithful companion, Hogan.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be directed to the SS Peter and Paul Cemetery or the Central Missouri Honor Flight.
