Logan, Thank you so much for your service in the United States Army. My son David says he knew you. David is deployed so I am posting for him. I am so sorry. You are greatly missed among your platoon. My heart is broken, because you are way to young to go back to Heavenly Father.
May Heavenly Father watch over your family. Again, David, my son and I are very sorry that you have left this earth. May Heavenly Father watch over your mom, your wife and your child.

Dear Logan, this day overwhelms me with so many emotions. Grateful am I for our memories shared; regretful am I for our memories lost and never-to-be. Boundlessly proud am I to know such a hero to our family, your family, your community, and our nation; devastatingly remorseful am I that I failed to express that pride to your attention. Unshakably sad am I that you're gone in person; joyful am I that you're with us all so attentively in spirit. Logan, your legacy here on Earth extends deep and wide, ripples of lives shaped by your powerfully bright soul. Rest easy knowing you shall not be forgotten. I pray only that you continue to guide, protect, and project your felt love upon us all but most especially Alliana, Amber, your mom, your dad, Randy, and Kimmy. 'Til we catch up again on the Other Side, thank you so very much for all the memories and all you have done here... love you!

Dear Cheryl, Randy, Kim and Amber and sweet little Allianna,
I just want to tell you that The first time I saw Logan, he was not a happy camper. We were at the pool, he was raising a ruckus because the lifeguard at the pool didn't give him back the correct change, to say the least she got an earful and so did we. I wouldn't let Jordan go with Logan because I thought he would get into trouble, but as it turned out I was totally wrong on my first impression of Logan. I even told him so. I'am proud to call him friend now and forever. He was Jordan's best friend, he saw past Jordan's speech and got to know him. And this I will be forever grateful. Jordan, like all Logan's friends wish they had more time with him. The last Christmas he was home and Amber took your family photos, he gave me the biggest hug and a little kiss on my cheek, just like my sons do every once in a while. Like I had another son. Sargent Logan Ash Hettinger, you will be my sons forever friend and mine for caring and taking time to talk to him and listen to what he had to say. Thank you Cheryl, you raised one hell of a man. May God wrap his arms around your family and give you comfort. Much love and respect!

The members of University Congregational United Church of Christ in Seattle are holding Sgt. Logan Hettinger, his wife, Amber, and daughter, Alliana, in prayer today as he is laid to his eternal rest. We also are praying for the soldiers who fought with Logan in Afghanistan and were his closest friends. Logan was among the best this country has and those same soldiers will stand beside him today because of their love for him. Personally, I will miss Logan's quiet smile and the huge hugs he gave me.
