WILBANKS, Margaret E. "Peggy" (nee Mortimer) 66, of Franklin, died in her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday. She was the loving and devoted wife of Michael Wilbanks, to whom she married on November 5, 1972. Born in Shelby, NC on August 25, 1946, she was a dear daughter of the late James T. and Rachael (Martin) Mortimer. She was a graduate of Fitch High School in Groton, CT. Over the years Peggy had worked as a head cashier at TJ Maxx, as a waitress at the Country Kitchen in Walpole, and at Davis Store in Wrentham. Her family knew her to be a great Mom and Wife, and family was everything to her. She and Mike were formerly of Wrentham from 1982-1995, but had made their home in Franklin since August of 2000. In addition to her loving husband she leaves her dear children, Michael E. Wilbanks (Jennifer) of Bellingham, and Melissa E. Briggs (Andy) of Medway. She was the sister of James T. Mortimer of Groton, CT, Patricia M. Mortimer of Groton, CT, Kathleen Kemp of Richmond, VA, Timothy J. Mortimer of Cord a Alene, ID and the late Michael J. Mortimer. She was the devoted grandmother of four grandchildren, Jayda & Madelyn Wilbanks and Hayden & Travis Briggs, sister-in-law, aunt and cousin. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Route 1A, WRENTHAM CENTRE, on Friday from 4-8 PM, with her Funeral Mass at 9 AM, Saturday in St. Mary's Church, 140 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham Centre. Donations in her memory may be made to Tufts Medical Center, Oncology Division, Box 245, 800 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02111, Attn. Dr. Gary Strauss.

Michael, Jim, Patsy, Tim, Kathy and family,
Peggy was one wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all those who knew her. Tears of loss and sorrow are expressed now and should not be denied. Cherish the fond memories of her always. She is an angel in heaven now with God and will be watching down on all of you. May God bless and give strength to all of you.
