Walter and I attended Northeastern University civil engineering school together. We commuted daily from Brockton; he was the driver.
On Saturday night, June 15, 2013, the Brockton High School class of 1953 (with 140 members present) voiced respect and tribute to Walter and all other deceased class-mates. The tribute was overwhelming. Please accept my condolences for your loss.

My wife and I were shocked and geatly dismayed to learn of Walter's untimely passing. In the 6 years since Walter first befriended me on the tennis courts, I had grown very fond of him and cherished our matches and friendship. He was a softspoken, dignified and intelligent man. Generous, with a kind heart and a kind word for all; a willingness to help others and make the world a better place. Truely a mensch. A loss for all that knew him.
My wife and I were scheduled to have dinner with Walter and Simone the night hew was 1st hospitalized. I am saddened to think that I will never see him again. Best wishes to all of his family and know that many people are remembering him with love.

Walter was my first real boss . I worked for him at EPA. We becane good friends and when I did some construction projects for him at his house Divita would read childrens stories to my boys. The hat day picture was classic walter, he was in charge of the rouge group known as the water quality branch , and we all loved him. He was a real visionary with regards to planning for which not a lot of people realized. You re a good my friend, im sure heaven has plenty of tennis courts.
