I had Professoressa Palladino as an Italian teacher for Italian 1. She very patient and kind to us as we attempted to learn an entirely new language. I remember I was extremely nervous about one of our oral exams and when I was done, she reassured me that despite my mistakes I had done a good job. She was a great teacher and she always had a smile on her face. I offer my deepest condolences to her family and friends.

Dear Chickie. She'll be missed. So many great memories: swimming, water skiing, stealing crawfish from "the Peters", building huts in the woods, building boats in the ole' workshop, roller skating on Friday nights etc etc... I could go on forever!

My thoughts and memories on Chicky --
To say, basically the twins were there for Jane and I at important times in our lives.
The summer that should have been our worst --was the best! We lived with the twins July and Aug.1957.Swimming at the Country Club and playing Monoply every night! In Aug. to Cyrstal Lake. Excepted into the twin's group of friends. Walking the road to Alton, horse- back riding and water skiing! Sharing twin bed (sometimes toes to head) with 1-Smith and 1- twin.
Remembering beds, that following Christmas the 4 of us in Aunt Flo's bed--was the best!
My last communication with Chicky was in Dec. I met a young women at my gym who is attending No.Eastern U. and asked if she knew anyone taking Italian. She stated she did.I asked about Miss Palladino and she went on how much she enjoyed her. A great teacher! I E-mail Chicky and told her this. She wrote back that she is a good student and getting an A. Her note to me was so endearing and sweet! I was sure she would visit me in CA. on her way to OR. this summer.
My husband, Gus remembers speaking Spanish to Chicky and her speaking Italian to him at my aunt El's.
Our dear Chicky WILL BE MISSED! A loving, tearful good-bye until we meet again! XOXOX Gail and Gus
