ALLEN, ROBERT "BUZZY" - South End
Allen, Robert "Buzzy" On July 23, 2015. Robert was born on March 26, 1935 to Anthony and Lela Allen in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the only son with sisters Myrtle, Evelyn, and Marie preceding him in passage. He was affectionately known as "Buzzy" because his sister Eveyln couldn't say the word brother; it came out as Buzzy and it just stuck. To this day, many never knew his real name. Buzzy lived his youth in the South End of Boston and joined the Air Force at the age of 18 years. At the age of 21 he married Joan (Yancey) Allen. Together they had 5 children; Chareese, Kirk, Brian, Jayce and Craig. Together, as his family grew they traveled from native Boston to Denver, Germany, Cape Cod, Okinawa and finally Panama City Florida where he later retired. To the majority of his family and friends he was known as "Mr. Fix it." There was never anything he could not fix. He was often called upon by friends, family and friends of friends for advice on how to fix things. To his many grandchildren he was affectionally known as "Papa." He spent many precious moments with his grandchildren and was often seen at many sporting events, dance recitals, karate classes or anything else his grandchildren participated in. He played an integral part in many of their lives as Papa was always there; for a ride, a laugh, or just to hang out. He has left behind to mourn, Joan (Pukes), his daughter Chareese, son Kirk and wife Rochelle, son Brian, son Jayce and wife Tara, son Craig and wife Michelle. He has left 12 grandchildren including, Shelley, Stacey, Brittany, Brandon, Brian, Kirk, Dailin, Daja, Jaiden, Jaycelyn, Jackson, Zachary; and many nieces and nephews, and great-grandchildren. Arrangements JB Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 3rd, at the Columbus Ave AME Zion Church, 600 Columbus Avenue Boston, MA at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
